Are you looking for the perfect place to wed in Edinburgh? Look no further than Kirknewton House Stables! Nestled on the grounds of a sprawling country estate, this coveted venue is cosy, rustic and offers complete privacy for you and your guests to make some unforgettable memories.

Needless to say, we at Hog Roast Kirknewton are huge fans of this iconic venue and relish every opportunity we get to visit – let’s just say we know the place like the back of our hands by now! So, when Suzi and Jonathan asked us to be a part of their big day, we couldn’t say yes quick enough.
The bride and groom had spent months planning their dream wedding. From the colour scheme and venue decor right down to the inscription in their ring box, no stone was left unturned. And when it came to the food – arguably the most important part of any wedding – Suzi and Jonathan put their faith in our experts, Brian and Sheena.
Determined to give this lovely couple the wedding feast of their dreams, Hog Roast Kirknewton arrived on-site several hours before the serving time, giving Brian and Sheena plenty of time to prepare a hog roast feast for 100 guests. Using premium quality free-range pork, they crafted an unbelievably tasty treat that had every carnivore’s mouth watering as soon as they entered the dining area.
Cooking the pig low and slow for several hours is our secret to getting the meat nice and tender, while maintaining the crisp crackling we’re renowned for. Complementing the rich flavours of the pork, we also served homemade stuffing and applesauce, as well as fresh salads, rolls or wraps, coleslaw and herby new potatoes on the side, which went down a storm with the hungry guests.
Those not fond of meat were treated to grilled vegetable kebabs with optional halloumi, tzatziki dip, sweet chilli sauce and flatbreads – a colourful, flavour-packed alternative that made everyone feel included.
Once again, Hog Roast Kirknewton knocked it out of the park with an incredible spread that had everyone energised for an evening of Ceilidh dancing!
