Hog Roast Godron had the most incredible time catering for a wedding at Wedderlie House earlier in the month. This secluded venue, set among 50-acres of private estate was the perfect place for Katie’s big day. It was idyllic, tranquil and brimming with charm – the kind of place most couples dream of saying “I do” at.
Serving at this event was an honour we didn’t take lightly, and on the morning of, our catering duo, Brian and Sheena set to work on rustling up a proper feast for the hungry guests. Leaning into the rustic atmosphere, Katie had chosen one of our favourite menus: The Gourmet BBQ. Packed with all your flaming favourites, it was the perfect mix to keep everyone intrigued.
Meat munchers devoured our Thai-style chicken kebabs, meaty marinated spareribs and handmade gourmet sausages with earnest. But as tasty as these charred mains were, they didn’t quite reach the critical acclaim of our handmade 100% beef burger patties. Made from prime-quality beef and served on gluten-free or wholemeal buns with optional melting cheese, fried onions and a choice of sauces, these rich and hearty sliders hit all the right notes.
And when it came to the veggies and vegans, our grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs packed with fresh corn on the cobb, sweet bell peppers and more, were the ideal alternative that made everyone feel included.
Of course, no feast is complete without sides, and trust us when we say Hog Roast Gordon brought out the big guns at this event. Katie had requested our Greek salad, homemade pasta salad and freshly made mixed classic and sweet potato fries with salt, vinegar and sauces, which drove the guests wild. Not only was everything prepared on the day using fresh produce, but we made sure it looked the part too. After all, you eat with your eyes first, don’t you?
We’re proud to say that everyone was able to find something tasty to sink their teeth into at this get-together and by the end of the night, our chafing dishes were practically licked clean.
