What’s Hog Roast Edinburgh’s favourite holiday?
**Insert Drumroll Here**
Hogmanay, of course!
How long have we been waiting to use that cheap Christmas cracker joke, you ask? Okay we’ll be honest – too long. But in our defence, this really is our favourite stretch of the calendar.
There’s just something about the mix of Christmas cheer and the clean-slate feeling of New Year that just gets under your skin. Maybe it’s the sparkly decorations. Maybe it’s the promise of resolutions we might actually keep. Or maybe it’s simply the joy of seeing people come together after another busy year.
And up here in Scotland, Hogmanay isn’t just “New Year’s Eve”. It’s the big one. Always has been. Back when Christmas celebrations were banned for a couple of centuries (wild, when you think about it), Hogmanay was the one winter tradition people clung to. Maybe that’s why it’s still such a big deal now. And you can feel it – in the crowds gathering for fireworks, in the slightly wobbly renditions of Auld Lang Syne, in those last few minutes before midnight when everyone suddenly turns sentimental. It’s warm, loud, emotional… basically everything we love rolled into one night.
So before we all rush off into the madness, Hog Roast Edinburgh just wanted to take a wee minute to wish you a very merry Christmas and an absolutely cracking New Year. Whatever 2026 ends up bringing your way – new adventures, big celebrations, a fresh start – we hope it’s a good one.
And if one of your resolutions happens to be “eat something unforgettable”, well, you know exactly where we are. Hog Roast Edinburgh has a whole range of menus ready to go, from classic hog roasts to totally customised spreads you won’t find anywhere else. If you’ve got a plan, we’ll help you bring it to life.
Our calendar for 2026 is wide open and waiting to be filled with the next round of celebrations.
Here’s to the year ahead – and hopefully to seeing you there with a full plate in hand!
