Hog Roast Lauriston Catered For A Magical Winter Wedding!

Hog Roast LauristonEdinburgh is enchanting any time of year, but come winter, Scotland’s capital transforms into something straight out of a fairytale. Its grand castles take on a frosty glow, the cobblestone streets feel cosier under the shimmer of fairy lights, and the dramatic skyline looks even more cinematic against crisp, clear skies. The city quiets down, with fewer tourists bustling about, making every corner feel more intimate and magical. So, when Jordan and Holly decided on a winter wedding in this stunning city, Hog Roast Lauriston was thrilled to help make their special day unforgettable.

Working closely with the couple, our catering team planned the perfect menu for their 110 guests. With a mix of meat lovers, vegetarians, and vegans in the crowd, our Formal Wedding Catering Menu was the ideal choice. Set in an elegant manor house following a charming church ceremony, the event called for nothing less than show-stopping food, from start to finish.

The magic began with welcome drinks and a selection of canapés that dazzled the guests as they entered the beautifully decorated hall. Smoked Scottish salmon, mini fish and chips, vegetarian pizza slices, mini quiches, and a variety of Indian-inspired nibbles kept everyone buzzing with excitement. Paired with glasses of sparkling fizz, these delicious bites were the perfect prelude to the main meal.

Hog Roast LauristonOnce heartfelt toasts were made to the glowing newlyweds, Hog Roast Lauriston kicked off the feast with warm homemade soup and freshly baked bread rolls. Guests were then invited to explore the sumptuous buffet, where the star of the show—our signature hog roast—stood proudly alongside free-range roast chickens and grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers. A bounty of fresh market vegetables, glazed with butter and creamy dauphinoise potatoes rounded out the meal, ensuring there was something for every palate.

The grand finale? Desserts to delight any sweet tooth: decadent profiteroles and rich sticky toffee pudding, served with fresh cream. A tea and coffee service kept the cosy vibes going as guests settled in for an evening of laughter, dancing, and celebration.

Jordan and Holly’s winter wedding was a testament to Edinburgh’s magic and the joy of bringing people together with incredible food. Hog Roast Lauriston was honoured to play a part in this unforgettable day, where love, warmth, and exquisite flavours reigned supreme.
