Ok, 5* review left, but that’s doesn’t nearly reflect our delight at the event. From the friendly wave as your van drew up, the introductions, site visit and discussions of setting up and working out a one-way system to make serving easier and organised, and the actual food! Wow! Most guests ( from our son’s wedding the previous day) were expecting our usual barbecue type event. The visual display of the whole pig, slowly rotating on the spit, the selections of salads and sides gave the whole day a huge Wow factor. The welcoming approach of your personnel, their assistance, suggestions and banter was top notch. All the foods were top quality. The meat was perfect, the crackling the best I’ve ever had, the salads were excellent. We were especially impressed with the mixed tomato bowl. Long Covid has left me with no sense of smell or taste, so the mixed colours and textures were especially stimulating for me. At the close of the event, the remnants were cleared and plattered as we requested, all used plates and litter cleared and collected, leaving the site as was. It was a first class experience, and the compliments have flown in. Delighted to endorse the experience, and now saving up for our next significant event, cos someone may have mentioned the roast lamb experIence…

Spitting Pig were an absolute joy on our wedding day! Jon and his team were super friendly and efficient, making our delicious meal run as smoothly as possible. We were celebrating my daughters 40th birthday, with people from Ireland, Scotland, Italy, France and the United States, as well as from various parts of England. Everyone said how wonderful the food and the service were - the food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were courteous, friendly and very helpful. Hog roast catering provided by Spittign Pig was a delightful experience for our event. The succulent meat was cooked to perfection, with a crispy and flavorful skin that was a hit with all of our guests. The sides and condiments provided were also top-notch, adding a delicious variety to our plates. Lucy

Brian, Sheena and Isla served up an absolutely amazing supper which everybody enjoyed immensely. From arriving to leaving they were the perfect professionals. Their set up, presentation and service was simply outstanding and to say there are simply not enough stars to rate them would be an understatement. Absolutely amazing food - Brian catered for 40 guests at the pre wedding evening for my son and his new wife in Newhall estate in Penicuik. Food was delicious and there was more than enough for everyone. I had so many comments from the guests about the quality, choice and quantity. Brian kept in touch with me in the run up to the event and was extremely accommodating and helpful.
